A native of Belle Glade, Florida, Darial Smith is a gifted choreographer and professional dancer whose journey began at the age of seven through the Street Beat outreach program, under the guidance of Artistic Director and dance mentor, Ms. Shanique Scott. From those early days, Darial’s passion, discipline, and natural talent quickly set him on a path toward artistic excellence.
From those early beginnings, Darial’s passion, discipline, and raw talent set him on a path of excellence. He went on to train at two of the most respected arts institutions in the region—Bak Middle School of the Arts and Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach—where he built a strong foundation in classical and contemporary dance techniques.
Over the years, Darial’s artistry has flourished both on the stage and behind the scenes. His style blends strength and emotion, precision and passion—captivating audiences wherever he goes.
Darial has been an integral part of Ascension 33 since its founding, serving as an Assistant Choreographer alongside Ms. Scott. His leadership and vision have contributed to the creation of powerful, original choreography in genres such as Hip-Hop, Contemporary and Commercial Jazz. Darial frequently leads the studio’s Summer Dance Intensives, guiding and mentoring students of all levels. His influence goes beyond inspiration—he has a transformational impact, consistently helping dancers unlock their full potential and push their artistic boundaries.
What makes Darial’s journey unique is his ability to connect with dancers not just technically, but personally. He brings a spirit of encouragement, authenticity, and professionalism to every space he enters, and his commitment to the next generation is evident in the way he teaches, guides, and empowers.
Professionally, Darial has performed with companies such as the Sean Greene Dance Factory, and his work has been showcased at esteemed venues including the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Palm Beach Cultural Council, and the Royal Palm Beach Cultural Center.
Now expanding his career in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Darial performs in professional residency shows such as DISCO Show, appears in music videos, and works as a model and creative collaborator. Despite his growing presence in the entertainment industry, he remains grounded in his purpose—continuing to train, evolve, and use his gifts to uplift others through movement.
Darial Smith is more than a dancer—he is a mentor, a visionary, and a living example of how dedication and passion can open doors to incredible opportunities. His journey is still unfolding, and the world of dance is better because he’s a part of it.
